Bovec is the ideal place to enjoy many of Slovenia's outdoor activities: rafting, canyoning, zip-lining... While these sports are a must in the Soča Valley, Slovenia is also renowned for its caves. Indeed, the country is one of the best places in Europe to explore caves, thanks to its karst terrain rich in underground cavities, stalactites, stalagmites, underground rivers and other geological wonders. That's why you should definitely go caving in Bovec!

On your caving trip from Bovec, you can explore either the Srnica cave or the Mala Boka cave. In either case, you will be accompanied by an experienced professional instructor throughout the activity. He will provide you with the necessary safety equipment, take you to the starting point of the excursion and accompany you into the cave to guide you and ensure your safety.

Srnica Cave is located in the Soča Valley, near Bovec. It can be reached via a short hike from the village of Srpenica. Srnica Cave is known for its spectacular entrance, which is a large hole in the ground, requiring abseiling. It is less touristy and less crowded than some of Slovenia's other caves, offering a wilder, more natural experience. Compared to Mala Boka, the Srnica cave is a little more accessible for caving enthusiasts in Bovec.

The Mala Boka cave is also located in the Soča valley, near the village of Plužna. Mala Boka is one of Slovenia's largest and deepest caves, with a depth of over 1,300 metres. The cave is famous for its impressive entrance with a 106-metre waterfall, known as the Boka Waterfall, which is one of the highest in Slovenia.

Explore the Srnica or Mala Boka caves with a professional guide during your caving excursion in the Soča Valley and discover a whole new world on your next trip to Slovenia!
