Activity Snapshot
Activity description
Go for a hike at Le Pouce rising to 811 m of altitude and offering a 360° panoramic view of Mauritius from its summit!
Located near Port-Louis, Le Pouce is the third highest peak in Mauritius. Its ascent is a classic of hiking on the island, accessible to almost everyone, even if the last climb can be quite difficult.
The walk to Le Pouce starts on a track lined with sugar cane fields which will lead you to a steep but short climb in the undergrowth. It will lead you to the first small plateau from where you will be able to admire the view on the west of the island, notably on the capital of Mauritius, Port-Louis.
The hike will continue on a nice path to reach a second plateau offering a breathtaking panorama on the west, the east and the north of Mauritius and its islands. Then it will be time to climb the final ridge of Le Pouce, making the hike a little more sporty and aerial. Once arrived at the top, you will have only to enjoy your beautiful reward in front of the splendid landscapes which will extend under your eyes!
