Experience the power of nature on this vertical challenge on Stuiben waterfall in Tyrol

Appreciate the power of Mother Nature at Stuiben Waterfall in Ötztal Valley.

The tallest body of water in the Tyrol, Horlachbach Creek cascades 159 meters through the Austrian Alps - a landscape where weather-scarred rocks and moss-covered boulders follow the route of Stuiben Waterfall. Travel high above the whitewater ravine on this special via ferrata fixed-rope climbing route.

Stuiben Waterfall and Horlachbach Creek are situated near Umhausen in the Ötztal Valley. This 450-meter long via ferrata fixed-rope climbing route (rated easy to intermediate) culminates in a rope bridge across the top of the waterfall.

Meet your instructor at the activity base in Sautens for this via ferrata excursion at Stuinben Waterfall. Suitable for total beginners and adventure nomads alike, this half-day adventure navigates a 200m high rock wall – following an iron road of challenging pegs, steps and ladders. Starting with a short safety briefing from your guide, you will clip into the guide wire and start your ascent of the cliff line. As close to nature as you’ll ever get, you don’t need any previous climbing experience to summit this course, but a head for heights is essential – using specially adapted handholds to reach the finale – a Nepalese tightrope that dangles right over the waterfall! A knee trembling adventure with no return, work together to conquer this course – returning to the base to celebrate the achievement with a few light refreshments at the end.

Stuiben waterfall is a protected, fixed rope climbing route equipped with ladders, cables and bridges – accessed using a two-clip wire and slide karabiner system. No previous climbing experience or rope skills required. Grip tread trainers and gloves recommended.
