A thrilling 1-hour coasteering journey exploring the volcanic basalt cliffs and natural pools of Ponta da Galera in São Miguel, Azores.
- A multi-activity coastal exploration combining cliff jumping, ocean swimming, rock climbing, and cave exploration.
- Premium safety gear provided, featuring 5mm Sealand/Vade Retro wetsuits, Petzl helmets, Quechua life jackets, and Adidas boots.
- Intimate group sizes capped at a strict maximum of 6 participants per instructor for optimal security.
Course of events
Please allow 3 hours on site for the entire experience.
- Welcoming at the Ponta da Galera meeting point and introduction to the team
- Fitting and distribution of your technical equipment, including your 5mm wetsuit and Adidas boots (10 minutes)
- Comprehensive safety briefing detailing marine currents, cliff safety, and jumping techniques (10 minutes)
- Scenic 5-minute approach walk along the coastline to reach the water entry zone
- Start of the coasteering route: 60 minutes of active cliff climbing, swimming, exploring natural caves, navigating sea currents, and jumps ranging up to 7 meters. The activity is designed to evolve gradually, so that everyone can gain confidence at every moment. Alternatives are offered for every obstacle.
- Aquatic exit and short walk back to the departing point
- Removing your technical gear, brief debriefing, and end of the activity
Activity requirements
Please arrive 5 minutes before the start of the activity.
All participants must know how to swim to take part in this activity.
Being in good physical condition is required to take part in this activity.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
The minimum height to participate in this activity is: 1.20 m (3 ft 11 in).
The minimum and maximum weight to participate in this activity are: 20 Kg (44 lb) - 120 Kg (265 lb).
The maximum waist circumference to participate in this activity is: 1.40 m (55 in).
A minimum number of 2 participants is required to run this activity.
Special terms
The exact meeting time will be confirmed with the instructor before your booking is confirmed.
This activity is not accessible to pregnant women, people with physical or mental disabilities or people with back problems.
Please inform the instructor of any previous injury, medical condition or health problem at the time of booking.
If you are wearing glasses, your instructor advises you to attach them to a lanyard to avoid dropping them and breaking them or losing them in the sea.
Your instructor advises against wearing contact lenses, as they are easily lost when you jump into the water.
Pets are not allowed to take part in this activity.
Photos and videos are included in the price and will be shared via a Google Drive link on the day of the activity.
