Take the ultimate Canadian day hike in Banff National Park at Sunshine Meadows high in the Rocky Mountains!
Known as the most incredible alpine setting in the Canadian Rockies, the Sunshine Meadows is a natural garden at an average elevation of 2,220 m (7,300'). The meadows straddle the Continental Divide and the Alberta-British Columbia border, offering unobstructed views of some of the highest peaks in the Rockies. It's a great way to spend a day hiking in the wilderness!
The Sunshines Meadows offer a different and beautiful landscape in every season: flowering meadows in the summer, flamboyant larch forests in the fall, as well as abundant snow in the winter where you can enjoy a snowshoeing trip! Hike of approximately 5-6 hours (allow up to 8 hours of activity from pick up to return to Banff) of 12 km, with a 300 m elevation gain.
Activity requirements
A minimum of 2 people is required for the outing to take place.
Temperatures in the higher elevations can be colder than Banff town, please dress accordingly.
Special terms
Once your reservation is confirmed, you must contact your instructor to determine your pick up location in Banff.
If you are not at your pick up location on time, the guide will leave without you and you will not be refunded.
The length and duration of each hike will vary depending on the fitness level of the group. Please allow 6-8 hours for the duration of your hike, from pick up to drop off.
