Come and learn how to climb a real rock face in Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal with a certified trainer!
The climbing site is located on Île Sainte-Hélène, in the heart of the city of Montreal in the Parc Jean-Drapeau. This 200 hectare park is the ideal place to recharge your batteries without leaving Montreal! A real green setting surrounded by the St. Lawrence! It is therefore not surprising that Parc Jean-Drapeau is the place to be for your rock climbing initiation in Montreal.
During this half-day initiation, your instructor from La Liberté Nord Sud will introduce you to rock climbing and the equipment required to practice this sport. You will then learn the belay techniques, descents and basic movements. After a reminder of the communication and safety instructions, you will be able to start climbing on the rock face under the supervision and advice of your instructor.
The training wall at Parc Jean-Drapeau is 8 to 10 m high with a difficulty grading between 5.4 and 5.10, perfect for beginners, but also for those who wish to progress in rock climbing! The route will of course require a little effort, but you will also have the pleasure of climbing in the open air.

- Meeting with the instructor at car park P13 at Parc Jean-Drapeau and hand over your equipment at the wall
- Technical training and demonstration
- Supervised climbing and commentary by the instructor for approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes
- End of rock climbing, return of equipment and end of the activity
A minimum number of 4 participants is required for this activity to take place.
Special terms
The outing is cancelled if there is more than a 60% chance of rainfall of more than 1 mm on the day before the activity is to take place.
