The Takhini River flows west to east across the Yukon, from Kusawa Lake to its confluence with the Yukon River between Whitehorse and Lake Laberge. Along the way, it passes through expansive, unspoilt landscapes where wildlife thrives, including bears, moose, eagles, and beavers. If you enjoy outdoor activities and want to explore the region in an environmentally responsible way, canoeing or kayaking on the Takhini River is an excellent choice.
Join the professional team at Yukon Wide Adventures at their conveniently located base camp, just 30 minutes from Whitehorse, and rely on their expertise for a 4-hour canoeing or kayaking trip on the Takhini River. On arrival, a team member will provide all the necessary equipment (life jacket and paddle), after which you can choose your preferred craft—canoe or kayak. Alternatively, if you have some experience, you can set off independently and explore the Takhini river at your own pace. A shuttle service from Whitehorse is also available, making the excursion accessible even without a car.
