Course of events
- You’ll be picked up from your accommodation in southern Fuerteventura (from Morro Jable to Tarajalejo) or meet your instructor directly at the OTRO MODO Surf Camp Hostel in Morro Jable, around 30 minutes before the activity starts.
- After a short drive in a 4x4 to the best surf beach of the day, your certified surf instructor will explain the current conditions, wave forecasts, and safety procedures.
- A group warm-up session prepares your body for the surf lesson. Then, on the beach, you’ll practise essential surf techniques like body positioning, paddling, and “take off” on land.
- Once ready, you’ll head into the water for a hands-on surf session. Your instructor will be in the waves with you, helping you choose the right waves and giving personal tips to improve your technique.
- Beginners focus on catching their first whitewater waves, while intermediate and advanced surfers work on paddling, turns, and wave timing – all tailored to your level.
- Throughout the session, you’ll use high-quality surf gear, including foam or epoxy boards and Billabong wetsuits, all provided by the school.
- After 3 to 3.5 hours of surfing, you’ll return to the surf base or be dropped off back at your hotel, after a full surf experience lasting approximately 4.5 hours door-to-door.
