About the activity

Surfing at Famara Beach is a must for any visitor to Lanzarote, a volcanic island whose coastline catches the Atlantic swells all year round. This spot is one of a kind: the cliffs of El Risco overlook a 6-kilometre stretch of white sand, creating a majestic setting where conditions are ideal for surfing in Lanzarote. Unlike the sharp volcanic reefs of the rest of the island, the sandy bottom of Famara Beach offers a safe and progressive learning ground, ideal for beginners and experienced surfers of all levels. The best part? The water temperature is around 20°C all year round, so you don't have to worry about getting cold, especially thanks to the wetsuit you will wear during the lesson!

The experience begins in Costa Teguise with a 20-minute van transfer to Famara, through the lunar landscapes of Nazareth and Tahiche. Once on the sand, you will start the lesson under the supervision of a state-certified instructor with over 30 years of surfing experience. The instructor will not only ensure your safety throughout the activity, but will also provide personalised follow-up for each of you to ensure immediate progress. Beginners will take advantage of the foams (waves that have already broken) on the shore to master the 'take off', while intermediate surfers will practice further offshore to take on waves that have not broken. In total, you will spend 2 hours and 15 minutes surfing at Famara Beach, the ideal time to take full advantage of the sport and the exceptional surroundings!

As well as the sport itself, this surfing lesson in Famara, between volcanoes and ocean, will immerse you in the local surfing culture of Lanzarote. So if you are ready to take on the waves of the Atlantic Ocean on a surfboard, don't wait any longer to join Volcano Surf Lanzarote in Costa Teguise!
