Discover by kayak Cueva Bonita in Tijarafe (La Palma) with La Palma Outdoor!
Would you like to explore the most hidden corners of La Palma? In that case, we suggest a kayak excursion to Cueva Bonita, a geological cave located in Tijarafe, in the west of the island, which is only accessible by sea.
This cave of volcanic material and result of the erosion of the sea, was in the 18th century the refuge of many fishermen who hid from pirate attacks, as the fishermen were the only ones who knew of the existence of the two entrances to the cave. Now you can feel like one of them and explore the interior of this cave with your kayak and enjoy the incredible play of light inside!
The route starts in Porís de Candelaria, a magical fishing village of little white houses set inside a 50-metre high cave with crystal-clear waters. There you will be given an explanation of the activity and some basic notions of kayaking. Once you have your lifejacket, you will set off for Cueva Bonita! It is a walk of almost 1 km. When you arrive at the cave, you will have free time to enter, discover it, take photos and have a swim outside the cave. A guide will accompany you and will tell you all the secrets of the cave as well as answer any questions you may have. Finally, you will return to Porís de Candelaria.

- Welcome at the meeting point.
- Explanation of the activity and how to behave in the kayak.
- Distribution of life jackets and waterproof waterproofs.
- Departure by kayak to Cueva Bonita (almost 1km).
- Entrance to the cave, where you will be left for a while to take photos, walk around and ask questions.
- Exit the cave for a swim, if you wish.
- Re-enter the cave for a second time.
- Return to Porís de Candelaria.

Entry to Cueva Bonita will depend on the state of the sea at the time. Entry cannot be guaranteed on all departures.
It is recommended to arrive at the meeting point in advance, as it is possible to encounter traffic or road works.
For maximum enjoyment, please bring your action camera and snorkelling goggles.
