Enjoy a day of fishing in Tenerife from San Juan beach aboard an American boat!
Are you a fishing enthusiast or would you like to get started in this sport? If so, what better opportunity to do so than on board an emblematic American vessel in the magnificent waters that bathe the beaches of Tenerife, home to fascinating species such as bluefin tuna, marlin, bonito, blackmouth tuna and highland salmon?
In the fishing port of San Juan beach, on the west coast of Tenerife, Captain Carlos Javier Rivero, a Tenerife native who has dedicated his whole life to the sea, awaits you. On board his boat "SEA PASSION", a Bertram 28 Flybridg, famous for its robustness, comfort and stability, with a length of almost 9 metres and capacity for 11 people, you will sail the Atlantic Ocean in search of the most interesting species of the Canary Islands.
There are three types of fishing. Bottom fishing, in which the boat is stationary and light tackle is used to fish for species found between 4 and 120 metres deep, such as payetes or cabrillas. Deep-sea fishing, in which species that live between 200 and 800 metres deep, such as wreckfish, bocanegra or highland salmon, are fished. Deep-sea fishing, in this modality fishing becomes an exciting sport, as the challenge is to fish while the boat is sailing, about 8 knots and you will have the opportunity to catch species such as bluefin tuna, albacore tuna, marlin, swordfish or bonito. Depending on weather conditions, sea conditions and the season, the captain will determine whether you can do all three variants (bottom fishing, deep sea fishing and high fishing) or just one of them.

You will fish at different points of the coast with the boat stationary at a depth between 40 and 120 metres. Light tackle is used for this type of fishing.

Course of events
- Departure from the port of San Juan beach.
- Offshore trip through different areas with a change of depth for 4 hours.
- Return to the port.
Special terms
Depending on weather conditions, sea conditions and the season, the captain will determine whether if it's possible to practise bottom fishing, deep sea fishing and high fishing or only some of them.
It is recommended to do this activity in the morning, but if you wish to do the boat trip in the afternoon, please contact the captain once the booking has been made so that he can propose a new timetable.
