Practical information
Take part in a canyoning discovery adventure at the Verghellu Canyon, near Corte! For 2 hours, you will overcome several fun obstacles:
- jumps of up to 8 metres (all of which can be bypassed);
- 2 guided abseils on a zip line (15 and 25 metres);
- natural slides.
Course of events
Please allow around 3.5 hours for the whole experience.
- Meeting with the instructor at the Verghellu Canyon car park
- Distribution of canyoning gear and equipment
- Briefing on the activity and safety instructions
- 20-minute approach walk to the canyon
- Departure for a 2-hour adventure in the Verghellu Canyon
- 5-minute walk back to the car park
- De-equipping, return of the equipment and end of the activity
Activity requirements
All participants must know how to swim and be in good physical condition to take part in this activity.
All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
A car is essential to follow the guide to the canyon.
Special terms
This activity is not accessible to pregnant or disabled people.
Pets are not permitted to join in this activity.
If required, the team can rent you canyoning shoes for an extra €10 to be paid on site: please contact Canyon Corse once your booking has been confirmed to let them know if you wish to rent a pair.
If you don't rent canyoning shoes, rubber-soled shoes with good ankle support are recommended. You will be walking on the riverbed, where the pebbles are slippery, and there may be lichen on the stones.
⚠️ Warning: water shoes ("jellyfish" type) are suitable for the beach but not for the mountains, as they do not support the ankles and do not have soles thick enough for mountain walking. City trainers, such as Converse, Bensimon, etc., which have slippery soles, are also not recommended.

The canyon is located in the Verghellu Valley, from which it takes its name, between Venaco and Vivario in central Corsica, near Corte. The descent of the Verghellu Canyon lasts around 2 hours, with jumps up to 8 metres high on the programme, which are never compulsory, 2 or 3 natural slides and 2 guided abseils on 15 and 25 metre zip lines. You will enjoy this adventure alongside a qualified and experienced instructor, who will ensure your safety throughout the experience while advising you on the different ways to tackle the various obstacles on the course.

We went Canyoning at Pont Verghellu with Antoine. The hike up is a bit challenging, and especially in a bathing suit (no shorts possible, only bathing suit allowed on hike up). Descent is in wetsuit and helmet. The descent is challenging as the boulders are slippery and difficult to see under the water. However, it was really amazing. Lots of high jumps, toboggan (slide down rocks) and a zip line possibility at the end. I am definitely sore today. Would not recommend for anyone with any joint issues as the ankles/knees and hips will get extra work strain. Renting shoes from them is ESSENTIAL, as we went in sneakers and they were too slippery, no ankle support.

Nature, adrenaline, once in a lifetime. Take good time driving up and eat lunch in the beautiful villages on the way.
Canyoning is so much fun and the whole family loved it.
