Descent of the Seitan Limania Canyon near Chania, Crete

If you fancy challenging yourself with a sporting activity near Chania, without getting wet, the Seitan Limania Canyon is the adventure for you. Accessible in less than 40 minutes' drive from the town centre, this dry canyon offers a route through a small gorge made up entirely of abseiling descents, around 10 in all, 2 of which are 40 metres high. If you are prone to vertigo, it is best not to go! The Seitan Limania Canyon is accessible from the age of 14, and only to sporty people who can cope with the technical sections along the way.

You will enjoy the Seitan Limania Canyon in a small group of no more than 6 participants, alongside a qualified instructor who will provide you with all the equipment you need for the activity and advise you on how to tackle the various abseils in complete safety. You will need between 2 and 2.5 hours to descend the gorge, which opens out onto an arm of the sea and a small sandy beach with turquoise waters.
