Paragliding is quite easy. All you need to do is strap on a helmet, let your pilot attach you to a harness that will be connected to his, then take a few steps, and fly! Don't forget to bring comfortable clothing, maybe an extra layer in case it gets cold as you fly, and especially, closed shoes. You can't fly with sandals or Crocs because you might lose them in the paragliding flight over Heraklion, which makes it very dangerous for the people below.

The take-off point is usually at Avdou, in between Heraklion and Malia. You will be taking off from the top of the mountain, taking advantage of the thermal winds that will make you reach heights of up to 600 m! However, since paragliding is completely dependent on the weather, you might take off from closer to Chania, or your flight might even be postponed if the weather conditions are not ideal.
