Located around 30 minutes' drive from Heraklion, Mononaftis beach is one of the most beautiful diving spots in Crete. Mononaftis Bay is also just a 5-minute drive from the seaside resort of Agia Pelagia! In this bay, the water temperature is between 20 and 28°C (68 °F to 82,4 °F) depending on the season and the marine fauna is very rich. You might just spot octopus, barracuda or moray eels! As for the underwater scenery, it's made up of reefs, canyons and caves. A whole universe to discover during your diving experience at Mononaftis!
For this diving activity near Heraklion, you'll be in a group of 8 people maximum. Before you start, you'll be provided with high-quality, Bureau Veritas-certified equipment. The instructors will introduce you to the equipment and the theory of scuba diving. After this briefing, you can start practicing in the water to prepare for your first dive at Mononaftis.
