Offer Description

The beautiful Kourtaliotiko Gorge is a wild and fascinating destination where you can admire Crete's unique geological formations, magnificent waterfalls, and pristine nature. It begins south of the village of Koxare and heads south, passing through a plain and continuing with the Preveli small gorge before arriving at the magnificent Preveli beach.

Course of events

We will provide you with neoprene suits once we arrive above the gorge because the river's water is a little cold - but perfect for summer days! Hiking poles and helmets are also provided. We begin the adventure immediately after a briefing on the route we will take!

The first section includes a breathtaking view of the magnificent waterfall! The flow never stops, and the amount of water falling from the mountains is simply incredible. A small and safe jump will cool you down, and the location is ideal for some Instagram photos!

We continue down the river, splashing into natural pools and having fun along the banks. The plane trees around us provide the perfect backdrop - You will enjoy being away from the crowds.

We will arrive at an olive grove around 15

We will arrive at an olive grove around 15.00pm, where we will exit. We will return to our cars once you have changed your wet clothes. Optional lunch or a cold beer stop nearby!

A great way to explore the gorge. A combination of adventure and relaxation. Nice to book on a hot day, because you get a lot of opportunities to cool off in the water. We recommend this activity.

Great fun in this beautiful place. We got some very clear instructions as to what we were about to do and the gear provided was in very good shape. We had a very nice guide, who was very familiar with the place. He told us a lot about the surroundings, the plants, trees and people that are living or had been living in the gorge. Thank you Alkis. Apparently, before it got known to the general public, this used to be a place to get away from everything and anything. If your not afraid of getting into some really cold water and like a good hike with a bit of climbing and swimming this is something you've got to do when on Crete.
