The name Kayak means “hunter’s boat” as kayaks were originally invented already 2,000 years ago by Eskimos for transportation, hunting, and fishing. They were made of seal or other animal skin stretched over wood or whalebone.
Today, kayaks are used mostly for recreational and sports purposes. Kayaking is an excellent way to exercise and relax at the same time. It is an ideal way to spend the day together with friends or family and explore beautiful beaches, bays, and islands near Hvar.
Kayak & SUP Hvar rents modern "sit on top" single and double (tandem) Feel free kayaks fitted with deluxe seats, modern paddles and all needed equipment included. Their advantage over “sit-in” is that they fit all types of people (including those with long legs) and with an open deck there is no risk of being trapped in the kayak if it tips over. The kayaks are very stable and suitable for beginners due to their large capacity and wide bottom.
Dry bags with 30L or 3L volume and 100% waterproof are also available, allowing you to carry your towels, clothes, shoes, mobile phones, cameras and other personal belongings that must stay completely dry during your kayak adventure. All customers also get life jackets to stay safe during their whole kayak trip and if needed snorkeling masks are offered to enjoy Hvar’s beautiful underwater flora and fauna. All mentioned additional equipment like dry bags, life jackets and snorkeling masks are already included in the kayak rental price.
Depending on the weather conditions, duration of the kayak rental and your personal preferences our staff will give you detailed instructions where to go and what are the best places to visit. You'll also be given instructions about safety and how to use equipment (if needed).
It is possible to reach Pakleni islands with a kayak what gives you the ability to visit some of the most beautiful beaches in Hvar surrounding. However, for such trips, we recommend a full day rental, because for the majority of nice places you'll need about 40-60 minute to reach (one way). On Pakleni Islands there are several pebble beaches where you can safely pull kayak on the beach and explore the island, eat or drink something in the nearby restaurant, swim and do some snorkeling or just relax.
