This Via Ferrata near Metajna is designed for active climbers and adds diversity to the famous trail. The Life on Mars Via Ferrata crosses the sea, linking Slana Bay and Cape Sušac. In terms of difficulty, this Via Ferrata has a demanding route designed for sports enthusiasts. While it is possible to cross the Via Ferrata on a hike, the activity can also be combined with a kayak excursion!

Your kayak and via ferrata activity near Novalja begins at Ručica beach, near Metajna. Your guide will be waiting for you there with all the necessary equipment to briefly explain the itinerary of the excursion. From here, you'll kayak to Beriknica beach, where you'll take your first break in the fascinating karst landscape of the island of Pag. The kayak tour then continues to the bay of Slana, where you will leave your kayaks on land to embark on the via ferrata of ‘Life on Mars’.

Generally speaking, it takes around 30 minutes per person to cover the 100 m of the via ferrata. However, this time depends on your level of fitness. The height of the via ferrata is between 1 and 2 metres above the Adriatic Sea. After the Novalja via ferrata, the excursion continues by kayak to the beach at Sušac, where there is another stop for a swim. The activity ends with a return kayak trip to Ručica beach.
