Become a certified scuba diver on this educational and fun SSI Open Water Diver Certification Course in Split! Since this certification is recognized worldwide, your diving experience will be limitless!
During the course, you will learn how to become a safe and responsible diver in small groups of 4-6 people. The SSI training is designed so you can learn scuba diving theory at your own pace. The course is comprised of three parts: theoretical part, confined water dives and open water dives. Open Water will support you with manuals, DVDs, and free online training, ensuring multiple training options to suit all needs. Throughout the course, you will learn about the physics and physiology of scuba diving, equipment use and maintenance, underwater flora and fauna, and lots of other interesting facts that will fascinate you!
For your pool and open water training, your instructor will help you pick the diving equipment that fits you the best. Starting with shallow diving in a calm bay that is situated in front of the Diving Centre, you will practice breathing underwater. You will get enough practice time to adapt yourself to the underwater environment before completing your open-water training dives. The crystal-clear waters of Split allow for greater visibility, so you can better observe the amazing and diverse aquatic life of the area!
Once you receive your Open Water Diver Certification, you will be able to dive to depths of up to 18 metres (59 feet), all around the world, as well as rent equipment, join other groups of divers, and continue your education towards more advanced levels.

First Day
- Arrival at the Diving Center
- Meet the Open Water team, including your certified diving instructor
- Discuss the scheduling of your other sessions
- Receive a username and password to access the training documents, which you will go through at your own rhythm
- Each water training session with your instructor lasts for 3 hours
Activity requirements
All participants must know how to swim and float unassisted in the ocean and be in good physical health to take part in this course.
In addition, participants must complete a medical statement as well as speak and understand English (for safety reasons).
Special terms
Please note that this certification can be completed over 3-5 days, providing that participants do the mandatory 6 dives. You can organize the scheduling of this course with the staff at the Open Water Diving Center.
