About the activity

On the day of your reindeer and Christmas tree farm experience from Oulu, you'll have the option to be picked up in Oulu's city centre or the Nallikari area, around 30 minutes before the start of the experience. From there, you will go on a scenic drive toward the Christmas tree farm. Once you arrive, a friendly Nallikari Safaris instructor will welcome you and distribute the thermal overalls, boots, beanie, and gloves to keep you warm throughout the experience.

When you're all geared up for the cold, you'll head outside! Your instructor will teach you about the reindeer and how they're deeply connected to Finnish culture. You'll get to feed, pet, and take photos of these wonderful animals, a wonderful experience for both children and adults. Then, it's time to warm up in a kota with an open fire, and share a delicious traditional Finnish glögi and a freshly baked pastry. To finish this amazing experience, you will head to the Christmas tree farm, where you'll get to learn about the trees are grown are cared for, as well as decorate a tree and, if it's before Christmas Eve, you'll even get to cut a tree down.

Keep in mind that this wonderful 3.5-hour reindeer and Christmas tree farm experience from Oulu will take place during the Nordic winter, when temperatures can be as low as -30 degrees Celsius. You should come prepared with good winter gear to keep you safe and warm throughout the experience.
