About the activity

Maxime, a local guide with a passion for the heritage of La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré, will be waiting for you at the foot of the Ile de Ré Bridge to take you on a discovery tour of the island. For either 2.5 or 3 hours, depending on the option you choose, you will pedal towards the island's key monuments to learn more about its history: the La Prée fort, the Abbaye des Châteliers and the Citadelle de Saint-Martin-de-Ré are just some of the sites you will visit on this guided cycle tour of the Ile de Ré!

Riding your own bike or a rented bike (not included in the tour), you will start this outing by crossing the bridge over the Ile de Ré to Rivedoux-Plage and then following the island's coastline all the way to Saint-Martin-de-Ré. And if you have opted for the 3-hour option, you will have the pleasure of stopping off at an oyster farm on the way for a little oyster tasting accompanied by wine, a pleasant refreshing break during your bike ride on the Ile de Ré!

Our guide Maxime was excellent. He was very patient with us as we didn't realize we had to bring our own bikes. He was so knowledgeable on the history of the island and gave us an excellent cycling tour.

Ein bisschen anstrengend (das nächste Mal würden wir definitiv ein E-Bike nehmen!), aber sonst sehr, sehr schön! Wir haben sehr viel über die Geschichte und das Leben auf der schönen Insel Ile de Ré erfahren.
