Activity description

Embark on a sporty journey on one of the most beautiful rivers in the Southern Alps! From Embrun, you'll paddle down the Durance river aboard a kayak or an Airboat with a state-certified instructor.

On the edge of the Ecrins National Park, the Durance is the largest river in Provence. With more than 300 km, it takes its source in Briançon, crosses the lake of Serre-Ponçon and flows into the Rhone. It offers thrilling grade 3 rapids and calmer zones to make the most of the landscape and play with the currents.

Hakuna Matata Rafting invites you to go on a kayaking or Airboat trip down the Durance river for a thrilling adventure. An Airboat (kayak-raft) is simply an inflatable kayak that can accommodate up to 2 people so you can go kayaking with your mate!

Programme
You arrive at Hakuna Matata Rafting in Embrun and gear up (wetsuit, helmet, life jacket), you head for a few minutes ride by minibus to join the starting point of the course. Before boarding, you are briefed on the different techniques and safety rules. Then you board the kayak or Airboat and paddle down the river for 1:30hr (8km) from Chateauroux or 2:30hrs (16km) from St Clément accompanied by a guide, you're the only one in charge. Finally back on land and dry, your instructor invites you to share a cool drink at the center.

Bonne descente quand même

Une descente en kayak sur une rivière de montagne a 25 degrés. Des rapides impressionnants et de l'adrénaline à fond.
