Straying from the crowded pistes and tourist attractions in the Three Valleys, Les Balades du Colporteur showcases the traditional side of alpine living, bringing together snowshoeing and Savoie hospitality for one unforgettable weekend spent travelling across the Beaufortain and Vanoise mountain range.
Location
Spanning over 700km of un-pisted terrain, the Beaufortain and Vanoise backcountry routes are nestled in between the popular ski resorts that make up the infamous Three Valleys. Connected in the foothills by the busy town of Moutiers, traditional 'trapper' trails ascend up to 2,000m to a secluded alpine chalet.
Activity
A 6-hour snowshoeing excursion with an overnight stay in a quaint Savoyard chalet, this winter sport covers terrain incessable by any other form of transport. A scenic winter playground untouched by mankind, spend a full day traversing your choice of 3 routes (adapted for all levels) through ancient pine forests and hidden pathways on traditional snowshoes before arriving at the cosy cabin 2,000m above sea level for a homecooked meal and comfortable shared accommodation.
Conditions
Organised depending on weather conditions and snowfall, expect deep snow drifts, undulating mountain paths and thick forests.
