Advanced skiers, get away from the crowded slopes of Les Trois Vallées ski resort for a day of ski touring from Val Thorens!
The snow-covered slopes of the Vanoise Massif await you this winter for a superb day of ski touring from Val Thorens, away from the resort's crowded slopes where skiers of all abilities can be found. In small groups of 6 to 7 participants with a good level of skiing ability (comfortable in all conditions on the slopes), you will take advantage of the wide-open spaces in the heart of Les Trois Vallées ski resort to go ski touring from Val Thorens, with a mountain guide to take you to the best spots!
Once you have reached the place where you will be spending the day, your guide will provide you with a harness and an avalanche safety kit before embarking on off-piste ascents and descents adapted to your level: whether you have never done ski touring before or you are experienced, the activity will be tailored to your needs so that you can enjoy an unforgettable day of ski touring in Val Thorens. The lunch break will give you a chance to take stock of the situation at mid-day so that you can move up a gear in the afternoon!

- Knowing and using different equipment
- Learning how to convert the ascent, how to adapt technically to the terrain and what mistakes not to make, how to use knives (ski crampons) and even mountaineering crampons.
- Introduction to avalanche research
- Introduction to nivology
- Awareness of the behaviour of each skier in an off-piste group
- Meeting with your mountain guide in Val Thorens (time and meeting point confirmed by the guide the day before the activity)
- Journey on foot and by ski lift to the ski touring site in Val Thorens (you need to have the Trois Vallées ski pass)
- Distribution of avalanche safety kits and harnesses, checking of your equipment, followed by a briefing on the day's activities and safety instructions
- Start of your day's ski touring in Val Thorens
- At the end of the day, return of equipment loaned at the end of the session, then return back to Val Thorens to finish the activity
Activity requirements
A minimum number of 4 participants is required for this activity to take place.
A good level of skiing (being comfortable in all conditions on ski slopes) and good physical condition are required to partake in the activity.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
You will need to purchase the Trois Vallées ski pass to be able to reach the activity site.
