The turquoise lagoon and ocean waters of Moorea are one of the most spectacular sanctuaries in French Polynesia. Every year, usually from late July to early November, humpback whales come to these warm Pacific waters to breed and give birth, offering a spectacular sight from the surface. The Scubapiti team, with its wealth of local experience, offers you the chance to meet these giants of the oceans during a respectful and supervised outing. The Tipaniers beach quay, the starting point for the excursion, opens directly onto the passes where the mothers and their calves regularly sail.
The adventure takes place aboard an aluminium boat specially designed for the comfort and safety of passengers. The boat is equipped with a hard top to protect you from the tropical sun and comfortable seats to enjoy the navigation. During this tour of over 3 hours at sea, the captain and experienced instructor will share with you their valuable knowledge of the behaviour, feeding and conservation of cetaceans. Observation is carried out with strict respect for the animals, using a regulated approach to avoid disturbing the wildlife.
The group on board remains small, guaranteeing a friendly atmosphere and perfect visibility from the deck. Along the way, the sailing also offers breathtaking panoramas of Moorea's lush coastline, volcanic peaks and lagoon, making this a superb maritime excursion accessible to as many people as possible.
The cetacean season is short and concentrated in just a few months of the year. Book your whale-watching excursion to Moorea now and get ready for an unforgettable encounter with French Polynesia's marine mammals from the comfort of your boat!
