See the iconic Teahupoo wave in Tahiti, one of the most powerful waves in the world, up close with this boat trip!

Teahupoo is one of the most famous waves in the world for many reasons, including its razor-sharp coral reef breaks and its incredible consistency in producing huge rolls. Often described by several media outlets as one of the "deadliest waves in the world", it is also the setting for the World Surf League's Teahupoo International Surfing Competition. It is therefore a must-see site in Tahiti!

The Teahupoo wave takes its name from the small village in front of which it crashes on Tahiti Iti (Little Tahiti). It is at the marina of Teahupoo that you will board the boat to see the Teahupoo wave up close. On the way, your captain will tell you more about the spot by sharing some of the stories that have made Teahupoo internationally famous. Depending on the conditions, you may even be able to catch a world-class surf session!

If you want to admire an impressive natural spectacle in Tahiti, don't hesitate and take a boat trip to see the Teahupoo wave!

Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great. But still glad I did the experience and would recommend it!

This was a great way to see the waves up close. Haunui gave a a great tour and was so knowledgeable about the area.

We had a great tour. Even though there were no waves in December, we learned a lot about the surf and break. Our guide (I wish I could remember his name!) was super. Very knowledgeable and a great host. Plus he gave us a great tip about a swelling coming on the north shore! We never would have gone up there, and it was great advice.

Amazing experience! Even with what was considered a “fair-good” day Teahupoo is an amazing sight to see. For any English speaking tourists like ourselves, Tahiti in general can be a bit of a struggle with the language barrier. Pulling up to the Harbor we had a bit of trouble making sure we were in the right place. Though we could see the boat and the driver Sam was very friendly and helpful with where we should park and use the restrooms. From beginning to end the Adrenaline Hunters ride was fantastic. The driver (Sam) had great stories about the famous surfers that have spent time at Teahupoo and pointed out a surf villa where many of them had stayed on past trips. On the way to the break we had an amazing surprise with a pod of dolphins gracing our boat! Once out at the break the driver was perfectly skilled and got us basically next to the surfers lineup and positioned us perfectly to experience the most beautiful barreling waves we had ever seen! He also filled us in with great info while we watched. We would 100% take another ride if we ever find ourselves again in Tahiti
