The Maroto Valley in the center of Tahiti is still a wilderness paradise and offers great opportunities for quad biking. Accompanied by a local guide who knows the valley inside out, you will leave from the Tetapua Quad Adventures base in Papeeno to visit the heart of the island and its extinct volcano! Many breathtaking landscapes await you during this 4 hours excursion punctuated by breaks to fully enjoy the adventure.

One of the wonders that you will be able to admire at the beginning of this excursion in quad in the valley of Maroto is the caldera formed by the collapse of the crater of the volcano where there are a dozen waterfalls transforming into almost a hundred in rainy weather. The guide will suggest a stop to tell you about the history of this place and take pictures before leaving for about 16 km to the village of Fare Hape and its marae, a place of worship and historical gathering. You will have the opportunity to swim in the village's waterfall before heading back to Papeeno, with a snack by the water to end this Maroto Valley quad biking trip in style.

Our ATV excursion through Maroto Valley with Manawa Quad was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Tahiti! From the moment we arrived, Leila and her husband made us feel welcome. They took the time to thoroughly explain how to safely operate the quads, provided quality helmets, and made sure everyone felt comfortable before we headed out. Their relaxed, friendly personalities immediately put us at ease, and their knowledge of Tahiti’s history, culture, and landscape made the tour so much more than just an ATV ride. Riding deep into the heart of Tahiti through the lush rainforest was simply breathtaking. Along the way, we stopped at beautiful waterfalls and visited the ancient village in Maroto Valley, where we learned about the island’s fascinating history, including the stories of the ancient guardians discovered over 800 years ago. One of our favorite moments was cooling off by jumping from the rocks into a refreshing waterfall—an unforgettable experience! We were also fortunate to meet students spending their summer break in the valley, who generously shared fresh coconut with us. It was such an authentic and memorable cultural experience that made us feel connected to the people and traditions of Tahiti. The adventure didn’t end there. Leila and her husband invited us to walk through their beautiful property, where they introduced us to an incredible variety of tropical plants and trees. They even let us try ice cream beans, a fruit we’d never tasted before—they were sweet, delicious, and a fun surprise! What truly made this excursion special was the genuine kindness, warmth, and pride Leila and her husband have for their island. Their passion for sharing Tahiti’s natural beauty, history, and culture shines through in every part of the tour. If you’re looking for more than just an ATV ride—if you want an authentic adventure with spectacular scenery, fascinating history, and wonderful local guides—Manawa Quad is an experience you absolutely shouldn’t miss.
