Marvel at the immensity of the deep blue and the wealth of life it harbours on this guided snorkelling excursion in the ocean in Tahiti!
Polynesian waters, with temperatures varying between 25 and 29°C throughout the year, are renowned for their astonishing fauna and flora both in the lagoon and offshore, making any underwater activity a must, no matter which island you are on. But if scuba diving is still too impressive for you to admire the underwater world with complete peace of mind, then this guided ocean snorkelling excursion in Tahiti is for you!
Accompanied by specialist naturalist guides, you will leave the Marina Taina in Puna'auia for a 4-hour ocean snorkelling excursion in Tahiti. Throughout the experience, you will have the pleasure of discovering the underwater flora and fauna of French Polynesia (tropical fish, sea turtles, coral reefs, reef sharks, leopard rays, etc.) using fins, mask and snorkel at various snorkelling sites (at least 1 in the lagoon, then 1 in the ocean). Your guides will get into the water with you to ensure your safety, but also to show you the superb treasures not to be missed underwater! They will also give you lots of important information about the underwater life on board the boat.
The luckiest among you may even encounter dolphins, or even whales in season as you sail between sites, so don't miss this guided ocean snorkelling excursion in Tahiti for an adventure rich in discovery!
- Meeting with the team at Marina Taina in Puna'auia
- Board the boat for approximately 4 hours of activity
- Detailed briefing on the outing and safety instructions by the naturalist guides, then equipment (the 3 mm shorty suit provides buoyancy support)
- Depart for a first stop at the Taapuna surf spot, then head for the ocean to snorkel in the deep blue (2 to 3 launches in total, above a maximum depth of 30 metres)
- Return to Marina Taina, disembark and end of the activity
Activity requirements
All participants must know how to swim and have previous snorkelling experience (use of fins, mask and snorkel) to take part in this activity.
Written parental authorisation is required for minors to participate in this activity without an accompanying adult.
A minimum number of 4 participants is required to run this activity.
Special terms
This activity is not recommended for pregnant people.
Participants who wear glasses can bring their own mask adapted to their eyesight. Otherwise, please ask your optician if you wish to wear contact lenses during the activity.
People wishing to take part in the outing as a companion, without taking part in the launches, pay the same price as the participants. Exceptions may be made for groups, to be discussed directly with the Tahiti Ocean Explorer instructor.
If you wish, you can hire a private photographer for your activity, at an additional cost of 15,000 xpf (€125): please contact the guide once your booking has been confirmed to arrange this.
