A boat excursion around Tahiti's west coast peninsula will enable you to discover its amazing nature, plants & trees but also to enjoy its incredible wildlife nice to its crystal clear waters. It is a must do for everyone venturing in the southern part of Tahiti and looking for incredible landscapes in a more secluded area.
Tahiti's peninsula or Presqu'ile (in French) is also known as Tahiti Iti or "little Tahiti" in Polynesian. This area has everything you can expect for your Polynesian adventure from its incredible lush vegetation, to waterfalls, a lagoon with crystal-clear water and even one of the world's biggest waves with Teahupoo.
You will meet your guides, Haunui & Maruia, at 9am the Teahupoo Marina where you will board for your half day or daily excursion. The tour starts with a small ride to Teahupoo's massive wave, well known for being on lots of surfers' bucket list. Indeed, it is one of the world's most powerful & picturesque waves. There you will be able to watch some surfers enjoying the swell and take some pictures. Depending on the conditions, you will have some time to snorkel & watch the colorful underwater corals.
Right after, you will head in the direction of Fenua Aihere, an off the beaten path area only reachable by walk or by boat, and well known for several natural sights: the stop will be at the end of the Vaiau River the access to the Vaipoiri Cave! The area is accessible after a 10 to 15 minutes hike through the jungle. The cave is an ideal spot for swimming & relaxing surrounded by an amazing natural landscape. After some time you will head back to the boat for the next stop at Te Pari Cliffs. Last stop of the half-day trip brings you to the perfect snorkeling spot on a sandbank surrounded by crystal clear water.
