About the activity

Just 45 minutes to 1 hour’s drive from the centre of Athens lies Nea Makri, a seaside resort offering the perfect setting for an enjoyable holiday on the Attica Peninsula. As well as being lined with white sandy beaches, the town faces magnificent turquoise waters that provide excellent underwater visibility and temperatures that do not drop below 17°C in winter. What could be better for scuba diving near Athens? So if you hold a scuba diving certification, at least Open Water / PE12 (Level 1), join the centre Kanelakis Diving Experiences without delay, which offers adventure dives in Nea Makri!

For this adventure, you can choose between 1 and 2 dives carried out either directly from the beach or from the centre’s boat. Choosing a boat-based experience gives access to a wide variety of dive sites (wrecks, underwater caves, etc.), notably as far as Cape Marathon and the Petalioi Islands (the islands of Platourada and Dipsa), but diving from the beach is just as interesting, with plenty of underwater fauna and flora to observe (fish, octopuses, sea urchins, sponges, etc.)! The dive site or sites will be selected according to your level and the weather conditions of the day, with up to 1 hour of immersion on the programme (depending on sea conditions and your air consumption) alongside a professional dive master. With high-quality equipment provided and a maximum of 5 divers per dive master, you can be sure to enjoy your exploration dive in Nea Makri in complete safety!
