Snorkeling boat excursions from Vathy in Ithaca

During our aqua Safari trip, we explore Ithaca’s coastline around Vathy with a skipper who is also a PADI instructor or divemaster.

There are many snorkelling spots such as Nisopoulo reef where you can also relax on the beautiful beach, enjoy a swim in the crystal clear light-blue waters or explore the nearby reef with mask and fins and the experienced guide next to you. 

Kritami beach is one of the highlights of the trip with its interesting reef and the sailing wreck in the middle of the bay.

We also visit a small sea cave and we snorkel next to the big underwater wall. We can choose between many small isolated bays and Ithaca’s famous beaches such as Schinos, Filiatro or Gidaki. 

The 5-hour RIB Safari gives you the opportunity to visit the most remote places around Ithaca, accessible only by boat. There are three options to choose from with your instructor for your snorkeling trip: 

1) Afales bay is one of the highlights. Make sure you won’t leave Ithaca without visiting this wonderful bay. On the way back to Vathy you will stop in locations as cape Agios Ioannis (the north tip of the island) or Marmakas bay which is one of the best snorkeling spots of the Ionian Sea! You may also stop to Kritami bay or visit Gidaki beach.

2) Another option for the 5h trip is to visit the uninhabited Atokos Island and explore its sloppy and rocky coastline. Atokos is also famous for a small population of seals. Before arriving to Ithaca you can visit some snorkeling spots around Vathy like Filiatro or Gidaki.

3) The third snorkeling option is to explore the southeast coast of Ithaca. There are many isolated unspoiled beaches and bays. While returning to Vathy you may visit Meneris sea cave or any small bay close to Vathy harbor.
