Activity Snapshot
Activity description
Would you like to hike to the top of the Dodecanese? With an altitude of 1,215m (3,986 ft) the Kali Limni is the highest mountain in the Dodecanese islands of Greece and it separates the Karpathos island into a rather desert-like and less populated north and a more irrigated and more populated south.
During your hike up the tallest mountain of this island group, the views from all different heights will leave you speechless. You will find incredible nature with amazing wildlife and a variating scenery. Along the way, you will likely encounter horses or donkeys, get in touch with the culture of Karpathos, see rural parts of Greece and challenge your hiking skills. The excursion will make you feel like on an obstacle walk with the path made out of stones and even more, with its steepness when going back down. Once you reached the top you can claim victory by letting your guide take a picture of you with the famous cross. The view is simply stunning. You can spot the airport all the way in the south, but also the north, east and west are visible from up here. A perfect day trip for all hikers with experiences and a good condition to immerse into the culture and lifestyle of the region and enjoy breathtaking lookouts!
