Perfect for those who are visiting Athens for a limited time. This day tour includes transportation tickets to and from Athens to Kalampaka. After your relaxing train ride, you'll be greeted by your local tour leader holding a sign with your last name at the Kalampaka train station. Once you've boarded the VIP Mercedes minibus, the adventure begins!

You'll be taken to several locales throughout this 5-hour tour and your knowledgeable guide will talk about the historical and religious importance of the area. You'll visit the hermit caves of Badovas, where hermit monks resided more than 2 centuries ago. In addition, you'll tour 3 monasteries and view the exteriors of all 6 Eastern Orthodox monasteries.

The minibus will make several stops during the excursion so that you can fully admire the breathtaking vistas and the incredible rock formations. Don't forget your camera! At the end of the tour, you'll be dropped off at Kalampaka with ample time to catch your transport back to Athens.

- 12:00 p.m. - Arrival at the Kalabaka train station

- 5:00 p.m. - Arrival at the Kalabaka train station

- 6:00 p.m. - Departure for Athens

- 10:45 p.m. -Arrival in Athens

Activity requirements

Please be advised that appropriate clothing is required to enter the monasteries. Guests may be denied access if they are not appropriately dressed.

For men, sleeveless tops and shorts above the knee are prohibited. Longer skirts and shawls are available for women to borrow or buy at the monasteries.

- Please note that this activity is subject to favourable weather conditions. If your tour is cancelled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date, an alternative activity, or a full refund.

- You will receive your tickets via email and it is recommended that you print them in advance.

- Please arrive 30 minutes before the departure time. The train to Kalabaka leaves Athens at 8:00 a.m.
