Activity description

Explore the turquoise shoreline of Porto Heli on this sea kayaking excursion on the luxury Peloponnese peninsula.

Renowned for its wild, rugged and rocky coves as well as its luxury villas and olive treeline, Porto Heli has long been a hideaway for Europe's rich and famous. Within easy reach of a wealth of Greek archaeological sites, the bustling port of  Porto Heli runs to the rhythm of the Meditteranean - offering adventure nomads a true taste of Agean living. Discover is hidden bays and beaches on this sea kayaking excursion from Porto Heli to Hinitsa.

Porto Heli in the Peloponnese is one of the most luxurious destinations in Greece. A working port offering passage to islands like Hydra and Spetses, the summer resort town is in the municipality of Ermionida in the southeastern part of Argolis, Greece. It is situated on a bay of the Argolic Gulf, 6 km south of Kranidi and 40 km southeast of Nafplio. Nicknamed the Greek Riviera, from Athens, visitors can go to the port of Piraeus and take the ferry to Porto Heli, which runs about 4-5 times per day. Alternatively, visitors can go to Porto Heli by bus from Kifissos KTEL Station.

Meet at the seafront in Porto Heli for a half-day sea kayaking excursion to Hinitsa Island. Start with a short safety brief and kit breakdown before your embark from the beach for an excursion across 9 individual bays. Explore the shoreline and discover secret sandy inlets as you follow the olive groves from the bustling port to the private island of Hinitsa where you will stop for lunch, a swim and relaxation - using the time to navigate the small atoll on foot or bathe in the crystal clear waters. Once you're ready, you will return to Porto Heli, taking the time to see caves and caverns at low tide - finishing on the beach where your adventure will end.

Available all year, Porto Heli is a protected bay on the Mediterranean with calm, shallow waters with little current. This activity uses single capacity touring kayaks that require a splash deck (supplied). The best time to visit Porto Heli is during the warm, dry months from March to October. Spring in Porto Heli is ideal with fewer tourists, in summer, the average temperatures vary between 30-40˚C.
