Escape the crowds of tourists on a private boat tour to a turtle paradise, the island of Marathonisi. On top of a trip to Turtle Island, this excursion includes a stop at the Keri Caves, the beautiful blue caves that you can find in no other country than Greece.
Departing from the port of Zakynthos, you will head straight to Marathonisi Island, in Laganas Bay. Not only is this island shaped like a turtle, it's also a breeding ground for loggerhead sea turtles! Its deep, sandy beaches make for perfect nests for turtle mothers, and the waters surrounding the island are full year-long of bales of turtles for visitors to admire. Stay calm and quiet and wait for them to wade their way around the boat. You will also be able to get in the water with snorkel gear to get a closer look at these ancient, gentle marine animals.
After you've enjoyed the company of the turtles, you will head back on the boat to the Keri Caves, to anchor in the fluorescent blue waters within. The tall cliffs around it, and lush green scenery provide an impressive contrast with the glowing water within. Take the time to explore its crystal-clear waters, and don't forget to take in the stunning geology of the place as you go. This truly is a gem!
On this 4.5-hour cruise, you will be supplied with all the essentials for a perfect day on the Ionian sea. Snacks, drinks, snorkelling equipment, and music will all be at your disposal on the boat, which will be driven by a professional Captain. The boat itself also has a sun canopy for those in need of a break from the hot sunshine. The price of the activity is per boat, with each boat able to hold a certain number of passengers (from 2-8 people).
