Discover an underwater nursery full of colourful fish while snorkelling in the Pointe des Châteaux lagoon in Guadeloupe!
If you would like to spend some fun family time discovering the underwater flora and fauna of Guadeloupe's Grande-Terre region, this snorkelling trip in the Pointe des Châteaux lagoon in Saint-François is the activity for you! Accessible to children aged 4 and over, even those who don't know how to swim, this experience will take place in the lagoon of Pointe des Châteaux, and more specifically the Petite Saline lagoon, which is teeming with life: sea urchins, coral, small tropical fish, etc. A fish identification leaflet will be available to help you recognise the fish you come across!
With depths ranging from a few centimetres to 2-3 metres, both young children who can't yet swim and older children keen to see bigger fish will be delighted to snorkel at Pointe des Châteaux. An instructor will be on hand to supervise you throughout the activity and ensure your safety, as well as answer any questions you may have about the underwater life of the Petite Saline lagoon. In total, you will spend around 1 hour in the water, in complete autonomy and in a small group of no more than 12 participants, to enjoy the most enjoyable snorkelling session in Saint-François!
With all the equipment you need (mask, snorkel, water shoes, and even a wetsuit for children) and the explanations of an instructor at your side, this snorkelling trip to the Pointe des Châteaux lagoon in Saint-François is sure to please the whole family!
- Meeting with your instructor in the car park of La Case aux Trésors in Saint-François
- Approach walk to the lagoon
- Briefing on the activity and safety instructions, followed by the fitting of your snorkelling equipment (mask, snorkel, water shoes and wetsuit for children)
- Departure for around 1 hour of snorkelling in the lagoon under the instructor's supervision
- Return to the water's edge to remove your equipment
- Walk back to the meeting point and end of the activity
Activity requirements
You don't need to be able to swim to take part in this activity.
Written parental authorisation is required for minors to participate in this activity without an accompanying adult.
