Enjoy a full day exploring Northern Iceland!
Departing from Akureyri, you'll board a vehicle that can accommodate up to 16 people and set off on a day's exploration to Lake Mývatn and the surrounding area.
Lake Mývatn and the surrounding area are a must-see when exploring the north!
When you arrive, your guide will explain how the activity will work. Your journey will begin towards the coast of Eyjafjordur, one of Iceland's longest fjords. Your first stop is at the spectacular Goðafoss waterfall.
Your itinerary continues to Lake Mývatn, formed 2,300 years ago by a major volcanic eruption.
You'll also visit the Grjótagjá cave, before stopping off at the Hverarönd hot springs in Námaskarð. At the natural baths, you can relax in the warm waters and take a dip in the geothermal pools!
You can also get a massage or relax in the steam baths...
On the way back, you'll discover the unique lava formations of Dimmuborgir, which are one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Lake Myvatn region! We'll also stop at Skútustaðagígar, an area with many craters.
Your last stop is at Eyjafjordur, where you can see the fjord all the way to Akureyri. Don't forget to take your camera along to capture all this scenery!
