Sign up for an incredible combined adventure in one of Iceland's most stunning landscapes as you go on this full-day kayak adventure and glacier hike in Jökulsárlón. Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland, with stunning icy landscapes populated by icebergs that break off into the water regularly. Breiðamerkurjökull glacier is a "tongue" of the larger Vatnajökull Glacier, which has slowly created the Jökulsárlón lagoon.

On the day of your full-day kayak adventure and glacier hike in Jökulsárlón, you'll need to arrive at the meeting point at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon car park at least 15 minutes before your departure time. There, you'll meet the knowledgeable instructor who will accompany you throughout this whole experience. They'll explain the itinerary for the day, explain the safety measures you'll need to follow, and distribute the equipment you'll use, including a backpack where you'll keep the packraft (kayak) and paddle, crampons, and other safety equipment for the hike.

Once you're ready to go, your full-day kayak adventure and glacier hike in Jökulsárlón will begin with a 30-minute 4x4 ride over to the starting point of the hike. You'll then hike for 30 minutes (approx. 1 km) to reach the front of the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier. Next, you'll hike across the glacier for around 45 minutes (approx. 2 km) and reach one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Iceland: the calving face of Breiðamerkurjökull. You'll have some time to rest and observe the beautiful landscape before continuing the activity!

When you've regained your strength, you'll continue your full-day kayak adventure and glacier hike in Jökulsárlón by inflating your boat and receiving some kayaking instructions from your expert guide. You'll also add an extra layer of clothing (if you brought it) and put on the drysuit that you'll find in your backpack. Once everyone is onboard, you'll set off! You'll spend around 3 hours (approx. 8 km) paddling along the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, with a couple of breaks to rest and eat something. You'll finish the activity right where you started it and return all the equipment to your instructor.

Don't forget to bring warm, comfortable clothing that will fit under your drysuit, two pairs of warm socks, an extra layer (fleece, wool or puffy jacket), a water bottle, some energetic snacks, comfortable, sturdy footwear, a hat, and gloves, as well as anything else you might require (medicine, etc.) to enjoy your 7 to 8-hour full-day kayak adventure and glacier hike in Jökulsárlón!

Take your chance to explore one of Iceland's most stunning locations and enjoy two different activities. Book your full-day kayak adventure and glacier hike in Jökulsárlón today!
