Activity description

Get a fresh perspective of one of the most famous cosmopolitan cities in the world as you paddle your way across the stunning Tiber River in the heart of Rome!

to travel far for this outdoor adventure. You’ll meet your expert guide in Piazza del Popolo where they will accompany you to the starting point of your trip on the famous Tiber River, telling you some fun facts about Rome along the way!

Once reaching the Ponte Regina Margherita (approx. 20 minutes), your guide will provide a detailed safety briefing where you’ll also get to gear up and learn some basic paddling techniques and commands. You’ll be provided with further explanation about what to expect once you’re on the raft.

The descent starts off peaceful as you glide across the river away from the hustle and bustle of Rome.  You’ll truly get to immerse yourself in tranquil surroundings without even stepping away from the city! As you continue down, you’ll have incredible views of Castel Sant'Angelo from your unique perspective on the river. You’ll even get to take a quick rest where you’ll have the opportunity to take photos!

After, you’ll continue along the river before docking at the famous Isola Tiberina, the only island on the Tiber River that runs through Rome. You’ll have the unique chance to visit one of the world's smallest inhabited islands before continuing your navigation and facing the rapids below the legendary bridge of the island.

Your rafting trip ends at Trastevere, the famous Roman district that’s the perfect blend between ancient and modern times—just like your adventure! You’ll get to explore its streets where you’ll even have the chance to try typical street food in Rome.

From crossing under ancient Roman bridges to playing on the tricky rapids of the river, you don’t want to miss out on this exhilarating rafting trip that offers a unique point of view of Rome!

This was a great, fun way to see Rome and to learn some of the history. As a family of 5 from New Zealand with children aged 10, 11 and 13, we all thoroughly enjoyed this activity.
