About the activity

In Martinique, it is quite common to encounter turtles along the stretch of coastline from Les Trois-Îlets to Les Anses-d’Arlet, where the seagrass beds are plentiful and provide them with an easy source of food. Whether at Grande Anse d’Arlet, Anse Dufour or Anse Noire, it is possible to observe them close to the shore with just a mask and snorkel. However, if you would prefer to get away from the crowds so you can swim peacefully with the turtles in the most suitable areas for spotting them, this guided snorkelling excursion from Les Trois-Îlets with Espace Plongée Martinique is the perfect choice! Depending on the season and the weather, the team of guides will take you to the spots where turtles are most likely to be present, giving you at least a 90% chance of seeing them (please note that turtles are wild and unpredictable animals, and their presence cannot be guaranteed).

By joining this guided turtle snorkelling excursion in Les Trois-Îlets, you will spend between 1.5 and 2 hours in the water alongside an instructor who will show you where to find these magnificent creatures. You will be equipped not only with fins, mask and snorkel, but also with a neoprene shorty for added buoyancy and comfort. With the water averaging around 28°C, you will have no trouble staying in for a good length of time, especially with the stunning marine life of the Caribbean Sea to admire. In addition to turtles, the turquoise waters of south-west Martinique are home to many coral fish, corals and sponges, offering an extraordinary underwater experience! We had a little bit of bad luck with the weather, but the crew was very nice and supportive. We were still able to do some snorkeling and we were lucky enough to see a turtle. There were a lot of divers on board, so snorkeling was more of a by-product. All equipment was provided for us (wetsuit, mask, snorkel and fins) and there were drinks on the way back.
