Enjoy a unique experience – swimming with dolphins in their natural environment off the southwest coast of Mauritius!
The crew of Dolswim will meet you at 7 am at La Jetée Road in Black River, southwest of Mauritius. Breakfast will be offered with tea, coffee, juice, water, croissants, pain au chocolat, and fresh fruits.
Then you will board the fishing boat and the skippers will brief you on this great half-day activity. The briefing will be based on the types of dolphins you will encounter and their habits, the regulations to respect their well-being, safety measures on the boat and procedures when going into the water.
After this, you'll be ready for a 2.5-hour boat trip to meet these wonderful marine mammals and swim with them!
You may see Bottlenose Dolphins enjoying the bay to rest or play in the morning. In the afternoon, they head for the high seas to hunt and feed. They usually live in large groups of 10 to 100 individuals.
On the contrary, Spinners Dolphins live in small groups – males and females live separately except during breeding periods.
Depending on where the dolphins are, the boat ride can take between 15 to 30 minutes to get to see them. Once you arrive at the spot, the team will check if the animals are playing or resting. They'll be able to choose the best time to enter the water so you can make the most out of your excursion. When the time comes, one of the skippers will be the first to plunge and then invite you to join him with snorkeling gear (fins, a mask, and snorkel).
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The excursion is not recommended for pregnant women.
Dolswim reserves the right to cancel the trip in case of bad weather, to avoid any risk to your safety.
Dolswim also gives a guarantee of 90% that you will see the dolphins. But if that is not the case, there will be no cash refund but instead, a 2nd outing will be offered on their boat free of charge.
