Activity description
Take part in an exceptional sea trip that will allow you to admire whales and swim with dolphins off Mauritius!
Dolswim and his crew of experienced skippers invite you to embark with them at Grande Rivière Noire, south of Flic en Flac, to go off the coast of Mauritius for a half day to meet dolphins and whales.
The first part of this trip will be dedicated to the search for dolphins in order to swim with them. Of course, a briefing on these animals, the rules to respect concerning their approach, as well as the safety measures will be given to you at the departure of the boat at Grande Rivière Noire. You will then be able to enjoy a moment of snorkeling with the dolphins in complete peace of mind, under the supervision of an instructor at your side in the water.
Then, it will be time to go back on board to look for whales! You will have the opportunity to admire humpback whales only in winter (Mauritian winter from July to September/October), while you will be able to observe sperm whales living off Mauritius all year round. Of course, these cetaceans remain wild and unpredictable, so it is not 100% guaranteed to meet them, just like dolphins.
If you are staying in Flic en Flac and Grande Rivière Noire, taking part in a snorkeling trip with dolphins and whale watching is a must!
- Meeting at 6.45 am, then departure of the boat at 7 am
- Return to Grande Rivière Noire around 12.30 am
Activity requirements
It is important to listen to the instructions of the skippers or crew members at all times.
Whale watching is not recommended for children under 7 years old. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The excursion is not recommended for pregnant women.
Special terms
Dolswim reserves the right to cancel the trip in case of bad weather, to avoid any risk to your safety.
Dolswim also gives a 60% guarantee that you will see the whales and 90% guarantee to see the dolphins. But if that is not the case, there will be no refund as the costs for such outings are too high in terms of fuel used. Thank you for your understanding.
