Activity Snapshot
Activity description
The many islands off Norway's mainland make the amazing Norwegian fjords, one of the best natural places on Earth! Explore them on a kayak!
Jondal is mostly known for being the departure point for exploring the mythical Folgefonna Glacier, but the stunning fjords are also something you shouldn't miss! Experts and adventurers consider sea kayaking in Jondal as one of the things you should absolutely experience in Hardanger.
This area of Norway is lucky enough to have the perfect combination of the glacier and the fjord. One of the special things about Jondal is the short distance between these two landscapes. What better way to explore the fjords than on a sea kayak! As you paddle along the fjords, you'll feel like being a part of it!
Your sea kayaking trip will start with a safety introduction and an evaluation of the equipment. Then, you'll take your kayak to the water and hop on it. You guide will teach you the basic techniques: how to paddle, controlling the kayak, and what to do if you fail and turn over. Once you feel safe you will start the trip to Jonaneset or other destination, depending on the weather and tide conditions.
