About the activity

The Lyngen Alps are a stunning mountain range situated in Troms og Finnmark County, northern Norway. They lie on the Lyngen Peninsula, which is bordered by the Lyngen Fjord to the east and Ullsfjord to the west. A snowmobiling trip in the Lyngen Alps is an amazing way to immerse yourself in its breathtaking natural beauty.

Upon arrival at the base camp on the day of your snowmobile safari in the Lyngen Alps, you'll get equipped with warm thermal suits, helmets, and boots for your adventure. Each snowmobile will be shared between two participants, one driver and one passenger, with the chance to switch during the tour. The guide will take you through a safety briefing and driving instructions. Then, the adventure begins! Following the guide, you'll travel across the snowy terrain into the magical winter wonderland of the mountains. You'll drive up to 300 metres (984 feet) above sea level, with incredible panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.

Lyngen is known for its rich animal life, so you may encounter wild species such as sea eagles, foxes, or moose along the way! Midway through, you'll stop for a break to take in the serene environment and swap places on the snowmobile. Then, you'll drive back to the base camp in Lyngen. Afterwards, you'll enjoy a delicious homemade meal in the seaside panorama restaurant Bøteriet, accompanied by fresh bread, a drink of your choice, and a sweet cake or waffle. While eating, you can admire the Arctic beauty and learn more about the village's rich history.

Excellent with good equipment, safety and comfort and varied terrain. Opportunity to go faster also at a pause at a plateau for circuits and photostops. Views from the higher slopes and more time actually on the activity than many providers. Very high quality fish soup at lunch and norwegian waffles and comfortable transport. Friendly helpful staff.

Very fun to try the snowmobiles together with friendly and helpful tour guides. A great way to feel part of nature with the added bonus of trying something new. Even for beginners who have never driven a motor vehicle like this it felt safe and fun.
