Engerdal is situated between Lake Femunden and the Femundsmarka forest, relatively near the historic mining town of Røros in rural Norway. It is known for its picturesque landscapes, with mountains, forests, and valleys
The adventure begins at the starting point in Engerdal, where you'll meet the experienced guide. Upon arrival at the kennels, you'll be introduced to the adorable and friendly Alaskan Huskies! After a quick safety briefing, you'll set up the sled with a team of 3-5 dogs and learn how to drive it yourself. No previous dog sledding experience is required. Once you feel comfortable, you'll set off into the winter wonderland!
Following the instructions of the guide, you'll drive your dog team through the snowy forests, passing by picturesque valleys, mountains, and lakes. Immerse yourself in beautiful Arctic nature while experiencing the thrill of dog sledding! You'll stop at a traditional Norwegian treehouse in the mountains, where you'll spend the night 7 meters above the ground!. In the evening, you'll sit around a campfire and enjoy a delicious meal, while the guide shares stories about life in rural Norway.
The following morning, you'll enjoy breakfast and hot tea/coffee, before preparing to set off again. Over the course of the day, you'll get to know the sociable dogs and their personalities. You'll drive the sled back through the snowy wilderness to the starting point in Engerdal. Then, you'll say goodbye to your new furry friends as the unforgettable overnight trip comes to an end!
