Watch dolphins and whales during a boat trip off the coast of Funchal, Madeira!
Have you ever seen a dolphin or a whale in their natural habitat? Embark on an excursion off the coast of Funchal, capital of Madeira, to enjoy the spectacle that these mammals offer in the sea by jumping and accompanying the boat along its route.
Madeira, one of the islands of Portugal, is an ideal destination for nature lovers. Its humid and dense forests, mainly of laurel forest, a Unesco World Heritage Site, are of unique beauty. In addition, thanks to the island's location in the middle of the Atlantic, in its seas we find populations of dolphins, whales and even turtles!
The crew of Rota dos Cetaceos offers you an outing in one of their semi-rigid boats with capacity for 18 people. You will find them at their offices in the Marina Shopping Center in Funchal. There, they will explain the species of dolphins and whales that can be sighted off the coast of Madeira, such as the bottlenose dolphin, the painted dolphin or the sperm whale. You will then board the boat ready to see these mammals in action. During 2 hours and a half you will sail the Atlantic Ocean accompanied by a team of marine biologists who will explain you all the curiosities of these animals and will answer all your questions.

Course of events
- Meeting at the offices of Rota dos Cetáceos in the Marina Shopping Center.
- Brief explanation of Madeira's dolphins and whales.
- Beginning of the boat excursion.
- Return to the meeting point.
Special terms
Arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the excursion.
If no cetaceans are sighted during the excursion, a second trip absolutely free is offered.
