Kayaking is one of the best sports for those who like to do beach tourism but without leaving aside sport and adventure. If you want to discover the beaches of Portugal on your next holiday, we suggest a day trip by kayak along the coast of Sesimbra.

Less than an hour south of Lisbon, the coastal town of Sesimbra is a favourite destination for climbing enthusiasts, as it is home to the Arrábida Natural Park. It is also the town with the best beaches in Portugal, such as Lagoa de Albufeira or Praia do California.

The combination of the vegetation-covered hills and cliffs of the natural park with the turquoise waters of the beaches of Sesimbra, makes this coastal area of Portugal one of the most spectacular landscapes of the country. That's why we can't think of a better way to discover these beaches than with a kayak trip. Will you come and discover the Arrábida coast by kayak? Kayaking is a nautical sport, a variant of canoeing, which is propelled by a paddle and requires no previous experience. Currently we can find kayaks with capacity for 1, 2, 3 and even 4 people.

Beyond Adventures instructors will pick you up in Lisbon, in front of the Lisbon Zoo, from where they will take you to the coast of Sesimbra. On the beach, you'll be given your equipment: kayak, wetsuit if the temperatures require it, a life jacket... and you'll be ready to start your excursion! The Beyond Adventures instructor will guide you along the coast of the Arrábida Natural Park and you will visit three sea caves with millions of years of history and legends behind them. The kayak tour culminates at Anicha beach, where you will stop for a swim, snorkel and lunch. You will then kayak back to the starting point and from there you will be taken back to Lisbon. But first, you will make a short stop at the family farm of the owners of Beyond Adventure to leave the equipment and taste port wine and homemade grape juice.
