Take a rafting trip down the River Minho and share a fun-filled moment with your group in Melgaço!
- An instructor is present on each rafting boat
- Level: class II (moderate)
- Duration of the descent: 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs depending on the group, water levels and weather conditions
Course of events
Please allow a total of 3.5 hours on site, including a 1.5 to 2-hour rafting trip.
- Arrive at the meeting point and meet your professional guide.
- Minibus transport to the river (3 minutes)
- Safety briefing and equipment (buoyancy aid, helmet, neoprene suit (if necessary) and lycra (if necessary)).
- Rafting trip of 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs on moderate rapids: a succession of narrow, short and fast sections, followed by long stretches of calm water to relax a little.
- Transport by minibus to the meeting point (12 min)
- Arrive at the meeting point to change and toast with a glass of local wine.

Parental authorisation is required for minors taking part in the activity.

Special terms
A minimum of 6 participants is required for the activity to take place. If this number is not reached, you will be grouped with other participants who have already registered.
Rafting is not recommended for pregnant women, people with serious heart or respiratory problems, people with reduced mobility, recent injuries or those under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Pets are allowed to participate in this activity. However, the owner must determine whether the activity is likely to be enjoyable for their pet and keep it calm. The activity involves risks, and the owner must be confident that their pet is reliable.

The Minho River originates in the north of Spain, in the municipality of Meira, before flowing through Lugo and Ourense in Galicia and reaching the small village of Cevide. From there, it forms the natural border between Spain and Portugal.
