In the north of Spain, we find the Picos de Europa, the highest peaks of the Cantabrian Mountains, 646 km long, which stretch through Asturias, León and Cantabria and are made up of 3 main massifs. The Picos de Europa is the third most visited natural park in Spain and has been a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2002 thanks to its valleys, lakes, steep peaks... The best way to explore them is by hiking or on horseback!
A horse-riding route through the Picos de Europa is a unique way of getting to know this impressive mountain range in northern Spain. From atop a horse, you'll enjoy incredible views of the Picos de Europa mountain ranges. Specifically, Aravalle Centro Ecuestre's certified instructors will guide you along the beautiful trails of the Picos de Europa in Cantabria. Located in Cillorigo de Liébana, in Cantabria, 15 minutes away from Potes, the instructors are waiting for you with their horses to offer you impressive horse riding routes through forests, villages...
There are horse riding routes of different lengths, from 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on your level. Don't worry if it's your first time on horseback, because the instructors at Aravalle Equestrian Centre will provide you with all the necessary riding equipment and safety gear. They will also explain the basics of horse riding before you start.
