Right next to Bakvattnet, you'll find Ansätten mountain, which reaches up to 1090 metres high and offers incredible views of the surrounding landscapes if you dare to reach the top.
On the day of your snowshoe excursion to Ansättenfjäll, you'll need to arrive at the Taikuri Adventures farm in Bakvattnet in your own vehicle. There, you'll meet the expert instructor who will guide you through the experience, and they'll distribute the snowshoes and poles that you'll wear. The final step before you leave is a quick safety and itinerary briefing, through which you'll learn how to use the snowshoes, where you're going exactly on the excursion, and what to do to stay on the path and get back safely.
Once you're all geared up, it's time to go! You'll start snowshoeing up Ansättenfjäll, exploring untouched mountain landscapes and enjoying the views that start appearing at your feet. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, which might appear in the forest as you walk by. You'll snowshoe for a total of 3.5 hours and 6 kilometres, returning to the exact meeting point where you started the experience to debrief with your instructor and return the equipment you borrowed.
Keep in mind that temperatures in the Arctic tend to range between 5 and -30 degrees Celsius. This means that you should come prepared with good-quality winter equipment, including thermal underlayers, wool or fleece mid layers, and wind and waterproof outerwear that will protect you from the cold. You should also think to bring a hat, a scarf, gloves, water, snacks, and sunglasses to avoid the reflection of the sun in the snow, as well as anything else you may need (medication, extra layers, etc.) to spend an amazing moment on this snowshoeing excursion from Bakvattnet to Ansättenfjäll.
